In a world of tech-sans-boringness, a custom logotype is a glorious way to add a unique flair to your own brand and your clients' brand. We'll dive deep into understanding the nuances of creating a custom lettered logotype for a wide variety of applications. We will discuss proportion, color, expansion, translation, spacing and much more. Lastly, we will cover vectoring and interpolation to bring your logotype to its finished state. This workshop is for all skill levels from beginners to experts. Get ready to make some magic!
The workshop will cover:
• Sketching process from beginning to end
• Understanding a broad range of letterform styles
• Discussing frequently used terminology
• How to identify "problem areas" within your letterforms
• Understanding the ins and outs of vectoring properly
• Ending with a 30 minute Q&A session
Workshop is limited to 20 participants. All supplies will be provided.
Scott Biersack aka youbringfire, is an independent Designer, Illustrator & Type Designer currently based in Arizona. His work takes on whatever form is necessary to solve a problem. Whether that is custom lettering, calligraphy, illustration, typeface design and beyond, he tries to do it all.
Scott has been drawing letters along with many other things for a number of years. Tackling a wide variety of projects from skateboards, packaging, print collateral, apparel, and so much more. He received a certificate in Type Design from the Cooper Union in 2016 and now makes/sells his own typefaces.

If you're unable to attend and give notice after the 72 hour window has passed, you will be issued a refund only if we are able to fill your seat.
