This workshop is for beginner and intermediate level lettering artists or illustrators. You will learn to create original pieces of art on skate decks using Krink paint markers and products.

Eric will teach you how to adapt and evolve your natural drawing style with a variety of tools and experimental techniques. Each participant will leave with a handful of experimental drawings on paper and a customized skateboard deck provided by Homage Skateboard Academy. You will also receive your very own limited edition screen printed tote bag with one-of-a-kind artwork created by Efdot, which will include a variety of Krink Markers, Blackwing pencils, the Efdot “Tunnel Vision” enamel pin and the “Optimist” embroidered patch plus a few other goodies!

This workshop will cover:
• Sketching/refining process using Blackwing pencils and Krink K-70 markers
• Strategies for combining lettering and illustration
• Mapping out your composition on a blank skateboard deck
• Working with ink vs. paint

Eric Friedensohn (aka Efdot) is a designer, artist and skateboarder from New York, currently based in Buenos Aires, Argentina with Lunch Money (@wearelunchmoney).

Each month, he travels to a different city in Latin America to create hand-painted murals, canvases and installations for WeWork’s new coworking spaces. He stops back in NYC 3-4 times a year.

He has created lettering and illustrations for companies like WeWork, Google and the Food Network. His work takes on many different forms, from hand-painted murals to product design, but the ethos remains the same: taking complex ideas or emotions and distilling them down into simple, digestible images.

Eric has taught hand lettering and illustration workshops across the globe and we are excited to partner with him on this one-of-a-kind workshop.

Is this workshop out of your budget? Approach your employer about funding your enrollment fee. Does your company have an employee education budget? Ask whether your employer will pay for your workshop up front or with enrollment fee reimbursement as your new skills will make a positive impact on creativity and revenue. Spaces are limited, so the sooner you start, the better your chances of landing a spot. This is a valuable, one-of-a-kind workshop you don’t want to miss.
